5 Reasons You Might Consider Not Using Adsense Ads on Your Blog or Site

While this site is, of course, an Adsense Tips blog there are quite a few reasons why you might consider not using Adsense on your site at all! From the obvious to the more thought-provoking, here is a small list of just five reasons people don't bother adding Adsense to their blog os sites, despite being approved to do so...

Using Adsense Alternatives

Using Adsense Alternatives

Even in this blog, I have taken a look at many Adsense alternatives and some people to prefer to use them. Be it Amazon Associates or maybe an Ad targeting site like Ezoic, there are probably hundreds of Adsense Alternatives you might want to try and yes, some of them do indeed pay more than Adsense!

Loading Times

Loading Times

While the difference in loading times between a site with ads and without isn't a lot, there are many site owners out there who obsess with loading times and not using any ads is one way to keep that speed up. While a few seconds won't make a difference to most people, it could still be an interesting test on a site with larger, more in-depth content.

Religious Reasons

Religious Reasons

While Adsense themselves have guidelines on religious ads there are still a few exceptions when an ad that is inappropriate for your site will appear and this especially goes for religious sites. From adverts for banned foods to adverts promoting LBGT communities, there are many religious reasons to not show any ads and indeed it is the reason a lot of them don't.

Full Control

Full Control

While this reason is part of what you have just read in the "Religious Reasons" section there are still site issues that people don't like Adsense in control of. Maybe you have a theme or style that doesn't work with Ads, or maybe you just don't want them because you can't control what they show and advertise (not easily anyway). To some site and blog owners allowing ads are like giving over some control and some people simply won't do that.

Money Isn't a Goal

Money Isn't a Goal

The number one reason most sites don't use Adsense or any other form of advertising is that they don't have the intention of earning money. Maybe it's about spreading awareness of something, or maybe it's just about putting the information out there. Even some giant sites like Wikipedia refuse to use ads for that very reason! While most of us will fight for every penny, some site owners just do it for the sheer love of it.

Can you think of any other reasons people don't show ads on the blog or site? If you can, why not let me know the comments below.
