Adsense Alternatives: Using Affiliate Marketing Ads

Adsense Alternatives: Using Affiliate Marketing Ads

While this might sound like a pretty advanced thing to use instead of Adsense, it's actually surprisingly easy, provided you have the right audience. Sadly when it comes to affiliate ads and using Adsense at the same time Adsense do frown upon it meaning it is best to have one or the other. But which is right for you? I hope these pros and cons will help you decide as I have tested this method myself to mixed responses...

My Affiliate Earnings Growth Rocketed!

Things I like about Using Affiliate Marketing Ads...

Done well affiliate marketing can make more money in a single week than a whole year of Google Adsense! You might even decide to never use Adsense again, but its one of those Adsense alternatives that is not that easy to make work. Having tested it on a highly targeted fitness site I found removing all the Adsense ads and replacing them with my own affiliate banners (with affiliate link attached) within just a few clicks I was earning significantly more with the affiliate ads!

Using affiliate ads it also gives you a level of control you simply can't get with Adsense and the site truly feels like your own! I was able to make my own banners meaning the colours, shapes and styles fitted perfectly in the blog and I had far better tracking options on each click.

For Most of Us Its Simply Not Worth the Extra Work

Things I Hate about Using Affiliate Marketing Ads...

Sadly this method is either hit or miss. Like most forms of affiliate marketing, you really need to know what you're doing and put time and effort into targeting your audience accordingly. There is no way to A/B test these ads and the ads don't come personalised like they do with Adsense. Most sites are indeed better off sticking to Adsense rather than this method as it does take a lot of time and effort to earn the most from it. But if you know what you are doing or have just joined an affiliate marketing guided course, you might well want to consider this option.

My Personal Opinion of Using Affiliate Marketing Ads...

Ok, so this is not for everyone, but if you have a highly targeted niche audience and an affiliate program to match it, you can indeed make some pretty great money! It's just getting that right affiliate ad pointed to the right audience, whereas Adsense can be a much broader group of people who are interested in many different things. while I did indeed see a growth on my fitness site, trying this method on other news and blogging sites was a total disaster. but having said that I will hold my hand up and tell you that I am not the greatest affiliate marketer by any stretch of the imagination.
