How Can I Stop Inappropriate Ads Appear on My Site and Videos?

There could be many reasons you are worried about this happening. Maybe you have built up a young audience and don't want anything adult based or maybe it is for religious or personal reasons. Whatever the reason is today I will talk you though preventing anything you don't want appearing on your blog or YouTube videos. Please note that this information is for Adsense users only...

Click on "Blocking Controls" then click on "All Sites"

So, the first thing you need to do is to log into your Google Adsense account. Then click on "Blocking Controls" then click on "All Sites" (or just the site you want to keep safe - this also includes a separate tab for YouTube) then what you need to do is click on the "General categories" and the "Sensitive categories" page. I say click on the "General categories" tab as well because this contains some rather "sensitive" things that are NOT located in the "Sensitive categories" blade...

Block those categories that you don't want showing on your videos or blog

Before you start to block those categories that you don't want showing on your videos or blog you need to take note that you can only block 200 of them. So just by blocking the "Hobbies, Games & Leisure" category, you are using up 60 of those points. So what you need to do is be specific about what you pick and go into each category, especially the first one called "Apparel" as this category also has a deeper located "underwear" category". While I can't tell you what ones to block and what ones not too (because I have no idea what you might be offended by) I can suggest you go in and out of each of these categories one by one.

While 200 blocked categories should be enough for most people you can always use the 200 up and then block ads by a certain website by going into "Advertiser URLs" blade. This enables you to block up an additional 500 URLs and for most people, it is just a few certain sites that can cause issues.

As always I am more than happy to help if you have any additional questions about this matter or any other matter relating to Google Adsense. Just leave your question in the comments below and I will get right back to you ASAP.
