|Why Doesn't Adsense Give You More Exact Time Frames?|
If there is one thing I hear over and over again it is "when will my pin get here?", "When will my site get approval?", "when will my first payment be?". These things and many other Adsense related questions all have one thing in common and that is a time frame (or lack of it). So why doesn't Adsense be more exact with people about when things might happen? Let's say 1 month for your pin to arrive, 3 months for Adsense approval and maybe 60 days for payment to be processed? Well...here is what I think is going on...
Too Many Combinations and Permutations
Let's take the 2nd question in my opening paragraph "When will I get approval?" as this is the most common one. The problem answering this question accurately as with most Adsense related questions is there are far too many combinations and permutations to answer it accurately. The truth is I have had sites approved for Adsense in days and I've even had YouTube channels approved in hours! But then I have also been on the other end of the scale and had sites take months and YouTube channels even longer. So the question should be why does it take so long? (see this post for more on that question).
So Why Can't Adsense Be Slightly More Accurate in Time Scales?
Asking Adsense for a time frame on just about anything Adsense related is like the classic phrase "How long is a piece of string?". When you ask "When will I get approval?" there are many factors to take into account. How many other sites do you have, how old the site is, how much content you have and how good that content is. Plus there are checks to be made against the sites overall content to make sure it is advertiser-friendly. It's not as simple as "approve my site now!", its a matter of keeping the marketing departments happy before the content creators. Put simply Adsense can't answer such simple questions more accurately because there are so many other factors to take into consideration. Sure, maybe one day in the future AI will make Adsense better at such things, but for now, a lot of the approval systems they have in place require human eyes and that sadly takes time. But how much time it just about anyone's guess let alone Adsense themselves.
