|Here is Why Responsive Ads Are Not Necessary The Best Ads!|
Before I continue talking about the different sized ads and their best location I want to tell you why I think Responsive Ads are not always the best ads to show...
|Responsive Ads Are Now The Recommended Size!|
These days you will see responsive ads used in most blogs and sites, heck, even when you go to make a new ad-unit these days it is the recommended thing to use (see above). But the problem is the word responsive in its name simply means it will change shape to fit the size of the device used in the location it is currently in. This does NOT mean they will show the biggest ad type for that location for that device. This means you will find a much lower CTR with responsive ads, because there will be lots of times it will show smaller ad units that don't capture the viewer's eyes.
If you want to earn the most per click you need to sacrifice that fill rate these responsive ads offer and go for the larger ad units. (see here for more on that). Sure, a responsive ad will change shape, but it doesn't mean it will be the BEST shape to get those all-important clicks. This is the main reason I will be showing you the best location for all the different ad sizes when you could just stick to these responsive ones. If you can't be bothered to do any A/B testing responsive ads are fine, but if you are willing to do some experimenting to earn more Adsense the rewards can be much greater than you might think.
As always if you have a question about this post or anything else Adsense related do let me know in the comments below.
