|Is Being Family-Friendly The Only Way To Earn Adsense Money?|
Have you noticed how much content being made is family-friendly? Even the king of YouTube himself Pewdipie is making FF Minecraft videos! So is it the end of days for edgy, slightly adult content? Or is there something else going on? To understand this change in content, I think you need to look at the change from another angle...
Love them or hate them you need to see this from the eyes of the marketing firms where all that lovely Ad revenue comes from. The problem is there have been some big controversies over the last few years, particularly on YouTube and these..."problems" make marketing firms nervous to advertise on that platform. But here is the truth. Without all that marketing money coming in sites like YouTube simply couldn't exist. So what YouTube does is to tighten up the rules on what can be monetized and this, in turn, changes the type of content creators make.
This could also be one of the reasons why people are reporting that the ads have suddenly stopped showing on their sites and blogs. So is being family-friendly the only way forward? The answer might seem like a yes, but I can assure you it is not. The main reason is that not all advertising is "family-friendly" either, so that means those type of ads need somewhere to call home and that means sites that are less FF than others could well start to earn a lot more in the near future as the number of sites redeemed "NSFW" dwindles. There will always be a home for NSFW sites, but from a creator standpoint, it feels like it is being pushed away from peoples eyes.
Well...that is my own opinion anyway, but I would love to hear from you if you have a different one. As always if you have any other questions relating to Adsense do leave them in the comments box below and will answer them there or make a whole post for you with your answer.
